Paul, Here is a rather quick response to your most recent e-mail. Hooray for me - I can set you straight on the University Street question! The street is only two blocks long. The first block starts at the top of a hill. There is a string of brick apartments there - probably 6. All are up-and-down residences. My parents lived there while the house at 85, which is in the second block, was being built. I'm not sure when they moved in, but I was born in the house at 85, so it had to be sometime between you 1920 census and my birth. Mama lived in the house until she sold it - and according to her diaries that was 8/23/62. I'm so glad I can provide you with that bit of info. - Re my father: He was born 1/7/1895 and died 11/19/53. He was a heavy smoker and died from the complications of emphysema. Mama died from lung cancer - and never smoked! She graduated from Westerville High School in 1913. Your guess as to the time of their marriage is probably about right, but I never heard either one of them refer to their wedding date. As far as I know my father was born in Columbus. One unusual thing I remember is that when he was growing up he played with James Thurber! I think they lived on the east side of town - not far out as in the suburbs we have today. - One of my friends told me to ask you if you are familiar with FriendsUnited.com and USSearch.com. I think she has used both. I know I have already mentioned the Mormon connection to you. That's it for this time. Glad your Calif. trip was good and hope the same holds for this weekend in Jersey. Happy flying. Jean
