Context

Nov. 7th, 1958 Dear Dick: I have intended to get a note off to you for weeks, but we seem to be in such a whirl most of the time. Week ends have been full with one thing or another and I know yours have also. What about Thanksgiving? Would you like to come up? Dan and Danny both have off from Wed. afternoon until Monday morning again. It would be nice if you could come up for that time. Danny is getting along O.K. now but the beginning was pretty rough. Their assignments are terrible and he says it takes from four to six hours every night to do the work. He has been coming out on Friday night quite often just to sleep on Saturday and goes back in early Sunday morning to study again. Mother is spending the winter with us and Eva was asked to be a house director at one of the girls' dormitories as an emergency replacement after college had started about three weeks. It has taken a few weeks to get on to all of the routine and learn thee girls' names but now I think she loves it and it is so good for her. My brother Jack and his wife from New Jersey are coming next week end as he has a meeting in Cleveland. They will arrive the 14th and be here over Sunday. We had hoped to get down to Springfield to see Mrs. Orr a week end this fall but so far have not been able to make it. Everytime we plan it something happens or comes up to prevent it. We may make it yet though. Let us know if you can come for Thanksgiving. With fond regards from us all. Aletha & Dan P.S. Dan is thinking of taking a group to Europe this summer for a musical tour. Would you be interested? Think it over.
