Context

Paul J. Harris, Jr. 3923 Seeley Avenue Downers Grove, IL 60515 (708) 810-0967 December 28, 1989 Barbara Harris 54 Lorene Avenue Athens, OH 45701 Dear Barbara, As always, it was a pleasure talking to you the other day. Before I forget it, please make a note of the fact that my telephone area code changed on November 11 from 312 to 708. Chicago was just growing so fast that they had to give a separate area code to the suburbs! Please find the following enclosed: "Notes on the Early Life of Jordan Thomas Harris and James Arthur Harris," by Joseph H. Harris, 1932, 3 pgs. A two generation pedigree chart for Martha Jane Dille. Family Group Charts for the following: Jordan Harris & Ida Lambert David Dille & Elizabeth Meyers Lewis Dille & Olive Linscott Amos Linscott & ? ? Amos Linscott & Jane Squires Individual Data Sheets for the following: Martha Jane Dille Lewis Dille 0live Linscott Descendancy Chart for Jordan Thomas Harris Since you have recently been in the "branches" or "roots" of the family around Jordan Harris and Ida Lambert, I thought you might like to have a current copy of my family group and descendancy charts for them. As I told you on the phone, I have talked to Martha (Rau) Mercer (#953) and she is excited to help gather information. She gave me the address and phone number for her nephew, Carl Rau (#1404), who lives about fifteen miles away from me. I haven't called him yet (in my spare time) but am looking forward to doing so. He can give me the names of his wife and four children and possibly more detailed information on his parents. In the short time I have been doing this I have located four cousins [End of Page 1] in the Chicago area. By summer I should be able to hold a large reunion with nobody having to stay overnight! I realize that Olive Linscott is not on your husbands family line, but would appreciate any help you might render in breaking past Olive Linscott cnu my line. I have that her father was Amos Linscott, but do not know her mother's name. It may be important to note that Amos had a second marriage to Jane Squires that produced eight more children. I have sent both of those family group charts to help make a key fit somewhere, not to confuse the issue. I hope the latter does not happen. This ought to be enough to keep you busy for a while (as if you need it)! I will definitely get your way this spring, but I think we can accomplish a lot between now and then. Looking forward to getting together and meeting your family - our family. Sincerely, P.S. If you have an opportunity sometime to photocopy the Penn Township section of the Morgan County History Book, I would be happy to pay for it. I believe it would be very useful to me, but am in no big hurry for it. Thanks!
