Dear Friend
This evening I will try and answer your welcome letter which I rec'd yesterday. I also rec'd a letter from Alva and one from Cora Edgerton, her and Mattie are going to school at Barnesville. She said it was the wildest place she was ever in. I am afraid they will not make a very good Quaker of her. Last Sun. was qr meeting but it was a rainy one but the rain did not stop the qr meeting. I was not there Sat. but Ira said there were several from the other classes, but most of them went home Sat. evening or Sun. morning on account of the rain. I was there Sun. and we had a good meeting although the congregation was small, there was meeting in the afternoon but I did not go because it was so rainy. We did not have prayer meeting Sun. evening on account of it being too late when church was out, but indeed we do not expect to drop it. I have been having the neuralgia in my teeth for about two weeks and I tell you it is good company to keep me awake.
School does not commence until next Monday it was put off a week. I expect to start. Ira says tell you him and his "girl" are well. Oh yes the bridges are being filled on Buckeye [run] so we can ride to church.
Next Sat night is election for delegates to the general conference.
They are going to observe Thanksgiving at Hermon. I believe it is one week from today you must be at home then if you can. I do not know what kind of exercises they are going to have. We rec'd a letter from Ida last week they are well. I must close for tonight so Goodnight
Pray for me Your friend
Bertha Lambert
Friday morning
If you wish to answer I would glad to hear from you again. I often think of you and the crowd you are in but then is when we most need the Lord
Remember me when you pray
Bertha
