Miss Lambert,
Westerville, O.
My Darling Bertha: Here I am again, reached my train all right and met Mr. Sager the first man and of course he had some fun. I took local from Dunkirk and so arrived here about 2 hrs earlier than I expected and will write just a few lines ere mail time to say that I still love you and felt so lonesome this morning I scarcely knew how to act.
What a blessed yr this has been to me, and it is all on account of your sweet life. It will be very lonesome here for me until I get settled at work when of course it will seem different.
Our visit was so inspiring that I have not felt a particle sleepy all day. Five persons have inquired about you already.
I was looking at that present again you gave me and I must say it inspires me thoroughly and I can not pen the sentiment of my heart that wells up in thought of such a loving sweetheart as you. And just to think that it will be a long time before we meet again, but God can care for us and I know I can work better from having had such a visit. I certainly thank you and the family for such a kind reception even if I did come in after bedtime and get up late for breakfast. I don't know about waiting for Sunday this wk. for you to write. If you can write soon after getting this I think we can get changed around to our regular time again before you commence school.
How I would like to spend a whole wk. with you, yes my whole life time. But let us be courageous and hope for the best.
Fisher is all right. May God bless my Bertha and direct her in her studies. Let us both ask God to show us plainly to what end we shall prepare ourselves.
Your own true Lover,
J. H. Harris.
