Bartlett O., May 18, '95.
Mr. J. H. Harris,
Ada O.
Dear Joe: — Once more amid the bustle and noise of visitors I come to talk with you a little while. We have just had a lovely shower which makes all nature seem glad.
Your letter was rec'd Tues. night or rather Wed. morning. Tues. night was our business meeting, and with the organ question it lasted quite late. After that we practiced a play which we are performing for an entertainment, so altogether it was almost morning when we got home.
I sent a letter for an organ for the church today and hope to see it here before I leave. Our entertainment is for the benefit of the organ, it will be May 18, the folks here say I must give you an invitation. I w'd if I thought it were any use but I have tried it and you never accepted it so I will not waste the marks on paper.
I think there will be no time for me to get lonely now with the work I have on hand. Jim Selby,s came up yesterday and expect to remain about two weeks. Sam was bad enough by himself but with another of his equal I hardly know what I am to do.
Another wedding! John Armstrong & Lizzie Powel. I think I will have to leave this neighborhood before many weeks.
You asked about the High School Comm. at Westerville. It will be Fri. evening May 24.
Quite a sad accident occurred last Wed. Mr Love's little girl got a grain of coffee in her windpipe. They tried every remedy that four doctors could conceive. They said it was impossible for her to live in that way and at last opened her wind-pipe and removed the grain. She is improving rapidly and they think she will entirely recover. Please excuse this short letter as there are so many talking around I can hardly collect my thoughts.
Lovingly,
Bertha Lambert.
