We quote from "A Record of the Lambert Family in the U.S.A." compiled by
Otterbein Lambert, and in which he writes "Part of this information was copied from a book brought to Ohio from North Carolina, and part on the Stanton side of unknown origin, but possibly part of it from Grandfather Lambert.”
"JOHN IAMBERT, born 1715. His wife was Elizabeth Sayes, born 1716. Their children were; Sarah, 1738; Moses '40; Aaron '43; Jesse '45; Abner I, '46; ABNER II '47; John and Hannah '53; Elizabeth 55; David '57; - All lived at Elizabethtown, N. J ." (Note: Abner I, '46, must have died, and the
Abner II shown here is the one we refer to as Abner l in this history).
"ABNER LAMBERT I, born 1747; married Maggie Hughes (Born 1751) in 1774. Children were John and Matthew. ABNER'S 2nd wife Winifred Cartwright; (Born 1750) and moved to Mattemarket N.C. ABNER and Winifred were married 1180. Their children: Jesse 1781; Benjamin '85, ALBERT '86;* Elizabeth and Orlate '88; ABNER '90; DANIEL '92; Annie '95. ABNER married again in 1811 to Susanah Fairies." (*we have Albert born in 1787)

"
IDA E. Married Jordan T. Harris, 1879. Children were James Arthur Harris and Nellie Harris. Both were married and raised seven children. Arthur became a great scientist, specializing in Botany and the laws of heredity of plants. Was responsible for the development of Hybrids in corn, wheat, oats and barley.
EVA N. Married S. V. Selby about 1880. Children were Grace, Alice, Bertha, Paul and George. Grace had ten children; Alice 1, and Paul 2.
FRANK died of Diphtheria in 1880.
ALVA E Married Nellie Randall. Children: Glenn, Clair, Frank, Ralph, Marie.
HANNAH L. Married the Rev. J. C. Mayne. Children were Horace, Dwight, Helen, Daniel Ira and (Rev) John C.
BERTHA E. Married (Rev.) Joseph H. Harris. Five children; Paul, Robert,
Daniel, Theodore, James and Richard. Eight grandchildren.
(REV) DANIEL IRA Married Emma Brown. Children: Natalie and Ruth. Each have two children. {last year of his ministry in 1947 he was pastor of the Adams Mills Presbyterian Church - Madison, Ohio - died 28 May 1947 age 77 yrs, Dresden, Ohio}
WILLIAM O. Married Loretta Adams in 1900. Children: Pauline, Mary,
Lucile and Charles. Three Grandchildren.
CAROLYN D. Married Oscar H. Charles, 1901; Children: Phillip, and Daniel.
Four Grandchildren.
ElSIE M. Married (Rev) Wallin Riebel in 1903. They went as Missionaries to
Africa where she died in 1903. A martyr to her love for God's work."
