Collection number--19 Bore:7/8" Long: 35 "(over to the drop in handle) 49" ( if measured all the way across Whole bore: 11 1/2" Hold the handle and drill by turning the handle which makes the auger move. Used to drill a hole into the wood. diffrent Augers mean diffrent size holes. Augers are the largest hang tool used to drill holes. Augers had a screw head of the cutting edge and did not require a starting hole. sometimes called a "ship, power, or spur auger" (??)
