Box containing 5 Large and 3 thinner Auger Bits Inside has sticker: Russell Jennings Pitentee 1855 (in a circle to the left), Spur Auger Bits warranted crucible steel, The Russell Jennings MFG. Co., Chester, Conn., USA. Pat'd Jan. 30 1855 EXT'D to Jan (in circle to right), Bottom portion reads: The bits in this set are our big 100 and have our standard double thread point, and are unsurpassed for accurate work in seasoned (??) extermly gummy or hard. It it the thread used by cabinet makers. We also (??) our Fig. 101 with single thread point for quick boring which is especailly adapted for hard or gummy woods ,end grain boiling , wortising (??) The only diffrence in the two bits is in the (??). The quality and price are the same-- The Russell Jennings MFG.CO.

wood is knicked alot, hinges will not stay closed, very warn looking, hole on the bottom, bottom looks unstable (may break any time)
