Country of Origin: Canada Historical meaning: important link to native amerian heritage used: for transportation on waterways Came into Mr. Carski's posession: purchased while on a camping trip in eastern canada about 1935, from Indians who built it. Another canoe was puchased by a member of the party. The campers observed the indians construct the canoes-- peeling the bark, benind ght ribs, and lashing the parts together. Brought back to Baltimore MD on the roof of a car. Stored in the basement for a while then kept in a shed at a friends house on Middle River. Rarley did it go into the water. Was in storage for about 25 yrs. Thomas Carski is deceased but his son is still alive and lives in Towson, MD
