Photograph was found hanging in lobby of the Havre de Grace Maritime Museum on the left wall when entering the main gallery.
Materials: Wooden frame with glass and nails. A wire is strung across the back of the frame and is held in place by two metal loops screwed into the frame. Black and white photograph on glossy paper. Paper label taped on back written in ink.
Subject: The orginial location of Conowingo, MD before the Conowingo Dam was built. The original Conowingo was flooded when the dam was finished. This area is now the reservoir behind the dam. Image was taken from the Cecil County side of the Susquehanna River. The bridge crossing the Susquehanna River in the photograph was demolished in 1928.
Label on back of frame: Conowingo, MD. - (Cecil County Side) before erection of Conowingo Dam in 1926-27. The town was north of the dam site and completely covered with water when dam was completed.Collection
