A container used to hold water on the ship for the ships passangers.
From WW II life boat.... held water on the life boat. If the crew had to leave the ship such as it was sinking they would jump into a life boat, possibly be stranded at sea for awhile. Since the water keg was on board they had a decent chance at surviving.
On the front it is marked 30.00 -- possibly John Carroll spent $30.00 for it.Collection
