Caulker's Mallet
A large mallet that can still be used
These mallets were used to hammer oakum into the seams of wooden ships to make the hulls watertight.
caulking-makes the hull tight, keeps water from leaking in, cotton is driven into the seams with a caulking mallet/ or iorn
the TWO slim holes on each side-take up the shock of pounding all day (less pain for person)Collection

Has a few cracks in the mallet, but nothing to big or damaging. Handle is in good condition, only alittle worn, other then that good. On mallet, metal peices are rusted.
