A wooden spoon incased in a glass frame with wood around it. Inside the case is a mounted wooden spoon, an image of the Mary W. Somers, and a small exert, which reads:
This spoon was carved from the bowsprit of The Mary W. Somers, a Chesapeake Bay Skipjack built by William T. Young in Parksley, Va 1904.
This Skipjack has been on the National Historical Register since October 8, 1976.
