Autograph Letter Signed "Kamehameha" on 7" x 4½" Royal black bordered stationery (Medcalf #4) with black "K V" crown and "Iolani Palace" imprint, latter crossed out and updated "Moiliili, 23rd August 1866" dateline, letter reads "Dear Sir, Your note has been duly received. If the Minister of the Interior knew how pressed I am for the services of the prisoners that I have, I don't think he would have ordered the men on some other work. If his work is urgent and the men is only wanted for a short time. I will try and go along without the prisoners. If his work is not urgent I should like to keep the number of prisoners for the rest of the month. yours in haste, Kamehameha" and addressed to "W.C.
