Charles Augustus "Cabb" Brown was born on June 25, 1856 in Worcester, Mass., and arrived in Hawaii on March 12, 1877. He worked as a bookkeeper at the Wailuku and Olowalu Plantation on the island of Maui, then in 1878 for Bishop & Co. On Sept 3, 1886 he married Ii, whom he later divorced, but from whom he had three children: George Ii Brown, Francis Ii Brown and Mrs. Rose Davis. Between 1887 - 1916 he managed and developed the land holdings of th John Ii estate. He also served as tax collector during that period. He died on May 3, 1937 in Lowell, Mass. The Honolulu Advertiser noted that he left and estate of $1.3 Million.Create Date
