Frank Cooke Atherton; born Honolulu, Hawaii, July 1, 1877; son ofJoseph Ballard and Juliette Montague (Cooke) Atherton. He began his business career as clerk. Bank of Hawaii, Ltd.,Honolulu, 1897, advancing to receiving teller, paying teller, and assistant cashier and secretary,1904, resigning account health; secretary and manager of Sugar Factors Co;, 1906-09; secretary J. B. Atherton Estate, Ltd., since 1910; vice-president Castle & Cooke, Ltd.;vice-president and for six months and acting president Chamber of Commerce of Honolulu, 1918; President of the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, Ltd.; Vice President of Hawaiian Electric Co.,Ltd.; director in many corporations.
