Leonardo Nunes was a premier early 20th-century Hawaiian ukulele maker, son of Manuel Nunes, known for handcrafted Koa wood instruments, often branded "Ukulele O Hawaii" Vintage Instruments.. Operating from 1914 through the 1920s/30s in Hawaii and Los Angeles, his rare instruments are prized for their "barky" tone, arched backs, and rope binding.
