Theodore Richards (1867-1948) was a teacher at Kamehameha School for Boys from 1889-1893. He became the principal from 1893-1898. He was recommended to Kamehameha Schools by General Samuel Chapman Armstrong of Hampton Institute in
Virginia. General Armstrong was born on Maui, and graduated from O’ahu College in Honolulu. Theodore Richards was born in Montclair, New Jersey.
