Based in Florida since 1982 Marjori Graff is a retired teacher and active printmaker currently focusing on her own studio work and collaborative projects. Inspired by Japanese woodcuts Graff’s work uses combinations of color and shape to create ambiguous landscape prints. In Bee Keepers Delight bright pink flowers pop against uneven rectangles of blue, yellow and green. Small ovals of yellow rimmed in pink could represent petals or bees that swirl around the vivid flowers. The colors are saturated and cheerful with a composition simple. True to form the details and shapes are ambiguous leaving room for interpretation.
