With works like Certain Enigma, Kaur creates a visual representation of the “grey area” that would result from the synthesis of binary contradictions (i.e. “east-west” or “black-white”) in language. As the artist puts it, “My intention is to break away from strict categorization, which limits multi-cultural definitions and segregates mankind from the global community.”
