As portrait painter, Petras allows his audience to investigate the pieces and figure out the subject of the work.
Stephen Holm, who was a faculty member at Hillsborough Community College, invited Petras, a successful painter and gallery owner, to America to be the first installment in the international art-reach program at HCC.
"We want to establish cultural links and encourage international culture," said Holm. "Petras has the ability to capture the inner self in his portraits."
Petras painted this portrait of Ybor City historian, artist and author Ferdie Pacheco from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on sight for the international art-reach program at HCC. (2001)
