Governor Burton lived here on Beattie's Ford Plantation. House built in 1811. Gov. Burton, one of our early Governors, is buried at Unity. He was taken sick and died at the Knox Tavern, near Mt. Mourne, while en-route to visit his relatives at Beattie's Ford.
