Shell dressings were carried by individual soldiers, intended to be used as a first dressing in event of wounding or injury. Each cloth pack contains dressings comprised of a gauze pad stitched to a bandage and a safety pin. remove the inner dressing from this khaki bag and
tear open the white waterproof cover at the corner
indicated by a red arrow.
Directions for use Take the end of the
bandage and open the folded centre pad out flat,
apply the pad to the wound and fix with bandage.
Do not handle the pad or wound
