Description

Probably Hill Sardine, Korea, c. 1951-04-16. Soldiers possibly from the Machine Gun Platoon, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), relax on a track that leads up a wooded hill. Most of the soldiers are leaning back on their packs and have their weapons with them, the weapons comprising Owen submachine guns and .303 rifles. Standing among the soldiers are the two tripods for Vickers machine guns. A soldier at centre (left) is reading a book.
