Description

Khaki fur felt Australian Army slouch hat with four brass ventilating eyelets in the crown. The hat has a seven pleated puggaree around the crown and a leather sweatband. The puggaree has an RAAF badge attached, and the brim is unbound. The turn up is secured by a press stud. The leather head band is dry and cracked and a 2cm square has been cut from the turn up. The crown shows damage, with a hole at the top, front crease, while the brim has damage at the rear near the crown due to a wire hanger having been inserted for display.

Sweatband is dry and showing cracks. Sweatband is coming away from hat. Brass press studs are deteriorating. 2cm square hole cut from brim. Hole in top of crown. Holes in rear of the hat.
