Gold coloured alloy medallion. The obverse shows the Commonwealth coat of arms and 'WORLD WAR II SERVICE TO AUSTRALIA'. The reverse shows a stylised map of Australia with patterns representing the navy (sea), Army (land) and Air force (sky).
The medallion is contained in its box of issue, which also contains a small foldel pamphlet, describing the medal, printed in black, with colour picture of the medal on the front, with stripes of navy blue, khaki, red and airforce blue.
Black presentation box with fold over lid and magnetic catch. The outside lid shows in gold the Commonwealth Coat of Arms and beneath this 'Australian Government / Department of Veterans' Affairs'. Inside the lid in gold is '60th anniversary of the / end of World War II / For Service to Australia. On the base there is black imitation velvet with a depression in which the medal rests.
The medallion commemorates the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II. It was presented in 2005 by the Australian Government on behalf of the Australian people, to those who served this nation and her allies during the war from 1939 to 1945.Use
