Description

Handcrafted two-up wooden paddle, painted red. Two Queen Victoria pennies, one dated 1896, the other 186?.

Use

A traditional Australian gambling game, two-up has a "spinner" who throws two coins, usually Australian pennies, into the air via a "paddle". Players bet on how the coins will both fall: both heads up, both tails up, or one of each (known as "odds"). Illegal in most states of Australia, it is traditionally played in pubs and clubs throughout Australia on Anzac Day, when it is legal to do so. It has been legalised for play in some casinos and several tourist "two-up schools" in the Outback.
