Description

Child's gas mask and canvas bag, as issued by the United States Government. Mask is grey rubber with perspex eye openings. Canvas adjustment straps and rubber crown fitting are intact. Filter is grey and has warnings and instructions for use. Canvas bag has a press-stud closure and a canvas loop attached.

Canvas Bag US NONCOMBATANT GAS MASK MIA2-1-1 CHILD Mask CHILD SIZE LOT 18-[ILLEGIBLE]FTM Can WARNING THIS GAS MASK IS FOR PROTECTION AGAINST CHEMICAL WARFARE AGENTS ONLY, DISPERSED IN FREE AIR INSTRUCTIONS The head harness on the facepiece should be adjusted only tight enough to insure a gas-tight fit. To test for leakage, place hand firmly over the inlet in the bottom of canister and inhale. The face- piece will draw inward against face if tight. If leakage occurs around edges of face piece, adjust head harness. TO PREVENT EYEPIECES OF MASK FROM FOGGING 1. Wipe inner eyepiece clean with a soft cloth. 2. Breathe on the cleaned surface and on a piece of soap moisten them. 3. Rub the soap twice across the inside of each eyepiece. 4. Again breathe on eyepieces. 5. Rub the soap evenly over the whole surface with the tip of the finger. Handle the mask, especially the eyepieces, with care at all times so that protection will be furnished when needed. Store the mask carefully in a cool, dry place.
