A collection of aircraft drawings, created by James Ellis Groves, in three albums
James E. Groves was born in 1922 in the suburb of Balmain, Sydney, NSW. A draughtsman by trade, he enlisted in the 2nd AIF at the Paddington Recruitment office on January 9, 1941. Posted to Darwin, Northern Territory as part of the 54 SL Company, he would later see service in New Guinea from December 1943 until August 1944.
Demobbed in 1946, NX160226 Sapper James Ellis Groves returned to Sydney. In 1962, James was employed by the Department of Technical Education, NSW as a Teacher of Architectural Drafting, resigning just two years later.
These drawings were created during the 1960s and cover a number of planes built during WW1.Type of Drawing
