Description

Unopened square packet wrapped in off-white cotton (or similar), containing a bandage and gauze pad. Printed on the front is the description  'First Field Dressing', alongside a list of contents and directions for use. This version is dated 1940 and was made by Johnson & Johnson PTY LTD, Sydney.

Use

These dressings were designed to be easily applied by injured soldiers themselves, or their comrades, to stem blood flow from injuries sustained in the field.
