Description

Fordson was the name given to the tractors produced from 1917 by the Ford Motor Company, first in Dearborn, MI, and then in Ireland and the UK, where manufactire continued in Dagenham until 1964. The marque remained a separate entity from the Ford tractor line established after production was reintroduced to the US in 1939. After World War ll, the British Ford company up graded the Fordson, The new designed Fordson was the E27N E for England 27 for hp. and N for Ford. The engine was a four cylinder 276- ci engine. They were produced from 1945-1952. A Perkins diesel engine was available from 1950. Henry Ford was brought up as a farm boy. He made his fortune in the automobile industry but never lost his ambition to remove the drudgery from agricultural labor by developing an affordable farm tractor.
