Description

White full size horse mannequin, constructed of a wooden frame covered with burlap, cotton, plaster, and paint. His tail and mane are horse hair.

Use

Used for retail displays. Late 19th and early 20th century shops that sold saddles, harness and tack used horse mannequins like this one to encourage horse owners to purchase equipment from their stores.

Peanuts got his name in a competition run by Morris Kersey, who used him as a mascot for his peanut butter factory around 1950.
