Description

Metal Westphalia cast iron separator with hand crank, bolted to a hand made wooden bench. It was manufactured by Ramesohl and Schmidt Ltd., Oelde, Germany.

Use

The device separates milk into cream and skimmed milk. Milk is poured into the large bowl, and using the handle, the separator is spun, causing the milk to cling to the sides, while the cream collects in the middle. Cream pours out one spout, and skim milk out the other.
