Name/Title

4 Shaft Jack Loom

Description

Jack looms are fairly common to be used by independent crafters, as they are smaller and more portable than the counterbalance or the drawlooms. Each shaft works independently of each other, often positioned below the shafts. When the jack is pulled by the treadle, the shafts lift. Because of this technology, this loom does not require the castle frame above, unlike a counterbalance loom.

Use

Used by a single weaver, male or female.
