Name/Title
Wooden Moulding Plane, Ribbing.Entry/Object ID
2010.018.019Description
A moulding plane whose form seems to be to inset a 1 inch wide set of ribbing into the face of a board.Use
The square holes in the body would have been for an adjustable fence riding against the board edge. So the ribbing would be parallel to the board edge in the long grain. Ribbing this fine would crumble if set in the cross grain.Context
Could be used in combination with other moulding planes to make a most interesting result.
