George Bridges Harley Guest Rodney (1891-1973) was a British soldier and peer, a member of the House of Lords. During WW1 he served with the Royal Scots Greys, and later emigrated to Canada.
A plaque at his grave reads:
George Bridges Harley Guest Rodney, 8th Baron
November 2nd1891-December 18th 1973
In this cemetery rests Lord Rodney, the world's first scout. He was the first youth to sign the register at the original Scout camp August 1-9, 1907 on Brownsea Island in England. The camp, organized by Lord Baden Powell was the start of the world-wide scouting movement.
