Description

Double barrel shot gun - early 1900's Has been deactivated once through welding of the breech and barrels plugged and welded, deactivation confirmed by armourer, information on piece in file. Double Barrelled 20 gauge shotgun breech loader. This original double barrewl, percussion shotgun is an imported centerfire 20 gauge side by side. The mid to late 19th century hunting piece is stamped 'Patd June 20 1883' on right side. Shotgun carries Liege, Belgium proofs and features a 30" long barrel marked "TRAP GUN MACHINE MADE LAMINATED STEEL"

Use

Jense Earlandson acquired this gun circa 1910. Sold to Bill Lindstrom in 1946. Bill gave it to his Dad Charlie Lindstrom - Charlie kept this gun sitting in a corner of their house at New Remo. Dad Lindstrom would not hesitate to use it to scare away intruders. One such motorist was prowling around their house in the wee hours of the morning looking for a phone only to be confronted by Charlie in his "union suit" waving the gun at him the motorist who was peering through the window. Needless to say the motorist made a hasty retreat.

on the centre bead has scattered rust pitting and areas of oxidation. Also visible is the thin twist of the metal of the barrel. Tiny bead front sight, no ramrod
