Piece of old newspaper. Caption: Two pioneer Frenchman back in the early 1900�s Paul Brodin (left), Oscar Genrow (right) at their maroon mountain cabin. From this point they prospected, hoping to find the mother load, supposedly somewhere in this area (but never found). The mountain was named Maroon mountain because so many prospectors and hunters had been marooned at the point where the creel flows into Kalum Lake. On stormy days five and six foot waves would wash the lakeshore.Created By
