Description

Hand held solid brass school bell with a wooden handle. The brass bell is missing the clapper. The bowl of the bell has a large crack that almost reaches the neck. There are many small dents and scratches on the outside of the bell. The handle of the bell is wooden and has been stained dark, brown. There is a brass screw on the top which is attached to a rod in the middle of the handle. This is what holds the bell onto the handle. Object Type: School Bell History: School bell is from Kalum school, which was the original school in Terrace. The school board office is now in that building. Mrs Labelle was principle, the bell was pasted onto her daughter who gave it to the Grey family. Her picture (Mrs Labelle) is in the photocopied pages of a newspaper.
