Title: General record of Registered Letters
History: This General record of registered letters was found in 1969 in the attic of the home we purchased from Sam Kirkaldy. The home where Triggo's parking lot is on Park Avenue. The Kirkaldy's owned the home for many years and as Sam was the Postmaster, had the Post Office in their home. This ledger is from July 11, 1925 to June 22, 1929.
This house was built by George Little's book keeper in 1921, we were told. The house had the first electric lights (generator) in Terrace and the hardwood floors were cut from logs from Fuji in George Little's sawmill.
Enclosed letter says:
I would like to donate the registry on behalf of my mother, Shelia Alice McKenzie. She was a long time resident of Terrace BC and worked at Mills Memorial Hospital for many years. She loved the history of the registry and held onto it for many years. I hope it will give some history back to terrace and that others will enjoy it as much as she did.Acquisition
