The authors father recognized a revolutionary change was taking place in farming and with the help of several friends, began the Farmers Museum at the Washington County Fair Grounds. They collected and preserved old hand tools and horse powered equipment that had served agriculture for over 2 centuries. In 1984, Dick McGuire saved many items he found in the buildings from 4 farms and decided to use his own farm buildings as a museum. This in an inventory of items is his museum.
