Description

The story of Martin Clark, a Steuben County, New York farm boy who enlisted in the Union Army in 1863, in the middle of the Civil War. It is based on his actual letters home over a two-year period and diary. He was a member of the 76th Volunteer Regiment, whose members also came from Yates, Seneca, Tompkins, Otsego and Cortland Counties. This copy was sent to us by the author. There is a letter to the Society from the author inside the back cover.
