Description

53 Ashley Avenue, under construction. A number of workmen stand on front steps and on piazzas and can be seen seated and standing in windows. Rock/brick rubble in foreground.

Context

There is no evidence of 55 Ashley Avenue (next door), which was constructed in 1912, so this photo dates prior to 1912. Brick building behind and visible on the left as is a house in the background on its right (perhaps on Beaufain Street).
