Educator Florence Alberta "Bertie" Clyde spent 70 years of her life here, occupying the Smith Street home first with her parents, then with her bother and sisters, and finally as its sole owner. C. C. Herron, a professional building carpenter, built the home for W.P. Herron. C. C. Herron also built 195 and 197 Smith Street.
