Sampler on linen signed Mary Mathias and dated 1804. Floral border, scene of house, trees, birds, and a man and woman across bottom. Large case alphabet at top in blue cross stitch (A-Y) under which lower case alphabet is cross stitched in white. Verse in center. Framed in narrow black frame with gilt inner and outer beaded edge.
