Two envelopes addressed to Mrs. William Aiken in Saratoga Springs, New York. Presumably, they contained the two letters from Henrietta Aiken Rhett, Object ID Nos. 2005.014.001-002. Fronts of both are post-marked Flat Rock, N.C., and each have 2 cent stamps. Postmark date is faint but appears to be 1884. Back of one is stamped with a circular stamp "Saratoga Springs Jul 23 8 A.M. Recd" and back of the other is stamped with a circular stamp "Saratoga Springs Jul 26 8 A.M. Recd." Both have "Answered" handwritten on front.Collection
