The two-story dwelling probably dated from about 1850, having been built when the property was owned by Eliza C. Cochran. Mrs. Cochran received the property in 1842 as part of a marriage settlement from Thomas C. Pinckney. That transaction makes the first reference to the existence of the dwelling. The house was stucco on the first floor with the second story covered with a narrow clapboard, with windows and doors running the full length from floor to ceiling, small semi-octagonal rooms, and semi-circular porches. Although designated as "valuable" in "This is Charleston," the house was demolished in 1972 to make way for the construction of a medical office complex. (News & Courier.)
File contains newspaper article "32 Bee May Be Demolished" (4/30/1970); captioned photo (demolition approved) from Preservation Progress, 1970). See Media tab for 1972 captioned newspaper photograph announcing the demolition.
