Scope and Content

William Lee, a watchmaker, built here by December 1792, when he leased the building to Basil Pourie, merchant. Victorian changes include a bracketed cornice and slate mansard roof with surmounting balustrade. File contains brief building history from Information for Guides of Historic Charleston; photographic copy of plat; portion of newspaper article ca. 1980, "Fire Damages Offices on Broad Street."
