Scope and Content

Constructed ca. 1834. Robert Downie, a prosperous tinsmith and metalworker, built 63 Broad Street as an investment after he purchased the site in 1934. It has a late-Victorian pressed metal facade in the Renaissance Revival style. File contains building history from Information for Guides of Historic Charleston; photocopy of photograph of the building; Rosen and Associates inspection report (2009).
